skillpm init

Create a skill directory with a SKILL.md template that passes validation as written.

Usage

skillpm init [name]

With a name, init creates ./<name>/SKILL.md. Without one, it writes SKILL.md into the current directory and uses the directory's name. The name must be kebab-case; init refuses a name the validator would reject.

Example

skillpm init log-triage

✓ Skill "log-triage" initialized
  log-triage/SKILL.md
  Replace the description and body, then: skillpm validate

The template's description is quoted on purpose: an unquoted description containing a colon breaks the YAML frontmatter, and a skill with unreadable frontmatter scores 0.
